Step 1- A USB connection from Canon printer to laptop is required when you only want to print from that only PC/Laptop device. And, For implementation, plug one end of the cable into the USB port on the Canon printer and put the other side of the USB port on your laptop. Then, press the power button to turn on the printer.
Step 2- After connecting the printer with your laptop, you can start installing the printer driver(updated version). Suppose your laptop/PC automatically discovers the printer, then you can follow the visible on-screen instructions to install it. Otherwise, you will have to download and install the printer driver manually.
Moreover, you can launch the setup program by directly inserting the installation CD that comes with the Canon printer. But, in case you do not have the CD or even you lost it somewhere, then you can get the printer driver by:
- Follow the Canon Support website.
- Please enter your product model and select it from the search result options.
Now, scroll down to the Drivers & Downloads section option. Further, choose the operating system, then click Select given next to the driver that you would like to download. Next, click the download button. Following this, open the downloaded file, and click the Yes button. Afterward, click Next in the setup wizard.
Then click Yes. At last, suppose you are connecting your printer using a USB cable, then select the USB connection. Otherwise, select the Network Connection if you are using Wi-Fi. Then, click Next.
Note- Follow the wizard to complete the entire setup procedure; only then will you be able to experience the newly fresh installed Canon printer’s printouts.
